EJW Outdoors of Morehead City, North Carolina is excited to introduce a new concept in fishing tournaments, EJW Outdoors BIG KING Classic presented by Collins, Inc. This new concept of tournament allows anglers fishing from May 1 to December 31, 2008 to submit their qualifying kingfish. Whether fishing for fun, in a tournament or from a pier their fish may qualify for part of the purse estimated at over $100,000 based on 300 anglers. The format is similar to that of the EJW Outdoors BIG BUCK Classic, which has been presented for the past 12 years. The success of the BIG BUCK Classic with over 250 hunters gave us the idea to offer a tournament for the largest segment of saltwater anglers in North Carolina.

    This is a BIG KING Tournament, only kingfish will qualify for prizes. The mandatory Level I is $50, Level II and III will be a Tournament Within A Tournament at $100 and $250, Level IV will be a two fish aggregate at $100 for a total cost of $500.00. We will also have Lady and Junior Angler cash prizes. Enter levels I, II, III or all!

    Qualifying fish weighing over 25 pounds or longer than 44 inches will have to be weighed at designated Official Weigh Stations or by an Official Weigh Master of a tournament. The official BIG KING weigh slip, NC citation weigh slip or official tournament weigh slip will have to be submitted to EJW Outdoors of Morehead City. Anglers must be registered prior to catching their qualifying kingfish.

    The results of the BIG KING Classic will be presented to the anglers in April 24, 2009 at the Crystal Coast Civic Center in Morehead City. The awards banquet will feature great food, sponsor's booths, raffle prizes, entertainment, presentation awards for the 2008 winners and the "Kick Off" for the 2009 BIG King Classic!
